Fri, 24 November, 2023

We are delighted to announce that our ‘Global Upskilling’ webinar, held on Thursday 23 November 2023, was a success, drawing hundreds of attendees from around the world to hear how TWI’s Global Academy provides training for the current and next generation of industry experts.

While TWI is well-known as a Research Technology Organisation, we also have decades of experience in upskilling generations of experts through a united, international vision for training and certification.

Providing the skills and knowledge required by all sectors of industry, TWI has also helped improve the lives of people around the world through a number of innovative initiatives.

Our Global Upskilling webinar gave attendees the opportunity to hear about the full range of services on offer through our Global Academy, including an introduction to and insights into the TWI Diploma, an exploration of our internationally-recognised CSWIP-certified training schemes, including CSWIP NDT, CSWIP Welding, and CSWIP-BGAS, a presentation on the growing field of Plastic Welding and Inspection, including the importance and future of this developing area, a look at TWI’s exclusive Global Wind Organisation (GWO) and Underwater Training provisions, and an investigation into the importance of the NEBOSH and IOSH training on offer with TWI.

In addition, the webinar provided overviews of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) and The European Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF), an introduction to the work of The National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) and an introduction to the TWI Virtual Academy, showing how online learning tools are opening up opportunities across the world.

As well as detailing the range of training on offer through TWI, we also provided an overview of the important work of the South East Asia Skills Enhancement Programme (SEASEP), showing how this international initiative is changing lives and improving working conditions.

The presentations were delivered by an international array of TWI training experts, global managers, and technology leaders to reveal how our programmes accelerate careers, elevate organisations, and advance industry around the globe.

Alongside the presentations, attendees were also able to partake in Q&A sessions with our experts, with questions being submitted during the event itself.

TWI’s Director of Membership, Innovations and Global Operations, Tat-Hean Gan said, “I would like to thank everyone who registered and attended this informative webinar as well as our many experts who worked so hard to make the Global Upskilling event a success.”

With over 250 people joining us live on the day, and over 700 people registering, everyone who showed an interest will soon receive a recording of the full webinar, which you can also see below, allowing you to revisit topics at your leisure.
